Paris unveils its 2024 Olympics logo
Paris, one of the cities vying for the chance to host the 2024 Olympics, has unveiled its official logo to represent its application.
Displayed on the Arc de Triomphe on Paris’ Champs Elysee, the logo uses Olympics colors and design elements to write a “24” as well as to draw the Eiffel Tower, the much revered icon of Paris.
In competition with Budapest, Roma and Los Angeles, Paris is the second city to unveil its logo after the Italian capital, which used a graphic declension of the Colosseum.
To launch the logo, the French Olympic Committee was hugely active on social platforms which included the unveiling of the logo being live-streamed on Periscope as well as shared across Twitter with the support of a number of French athletes.
In addition to this, the committee has invited fans to draw the logo and to share it on Twitter using the hashtag #Paris2024, in order to win gifts and to show their support.
Paris’ mayor Anne Hidalgo launched the movement on her Twitter handle by drawing the logo.
