LA Dodgers to bring more premium music to their stadium
Dodger Stadium is set to get more musical after the Dodgers signed a multi-year deal with investment company Oak View Group (OVG).
Formed by managerial and entertainment industry gurus Irving Azoff and Tim Leiweke, OVG is an entertainment consultancy group that has been described as an “invitation-only platform designed to boost revenues at its client stadiums and venues through content acquisition”.
The company’s purpose is to ignite, inspire and connect sports and entertainment consumers focusing on creativity and innovations in order to solve existing problems at sports venues.
In an interesting precedent considering the amount of intermediaries already involved between musicians and venues, the partnership will hold OVG responsible for bringing in live music to Dodger Stadium with the group working with agents and agencies during non-game days.
Dodger Stadium isn’t the first arena to sign on with OVG as the group venture already has deals in place with New York’s Madison Square Garden, Philips Arena in Atlanta as well as the LA Forum.
Confident of what OVG can bring to Dodger Stadium, Azoff wanted to transform music at the stadium and make it apart of the attraction.
“Los Angeles is a special place for me, so to now have a vested interest in both the Forum and Dodger Stadium puts a big smile on my face. These are two of the best places to see live music anywhere in the country”.
