Emojis taking Fantasy Football to the next level

Look out Premier League Fantasy Football players, there may be a new method of trash talking your online opponents on the way… via emoji.

Real-time NFL news source SportsManias has announced the launch of a keyboard on its platform after fans told them that they took far too long to find gifs and memes during a game.

Their new keyboard offers exactly that kind of immediate luxury with an abundance of emojis, gifs and memes available at the touch of your fingertips.

It’s not an uncommon element of social media these days with the Premier League celebrating the beginning of the season with the club hashtags that converted to the club’s image once posted on Twitter. But this is really the first time a keyboard centred on a sport has been released.

A number of players and even coaches are featured in the keyboard with the likes of Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick apart of the keyboard. What is impressive about the keyboard is that once downloaded, it is immediately compatible with social media networks like Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat.

Co-Founder of SportsManias Vicente Fernandez said that they wanted fans to be able to trash talk each just like players would during the match.

We created this keyboard because fantasy football trash-talking is an art form, and we want SportsManias’ users to dominate this aspect of the game, too. Nothing like this has ever existed for fantasy football. Between our new fantasy news feeds and this keyboard, SportsManias’ users will be fully equipped for the season.

The announcement of the keyboard comes at a peculiar time with Toyota also announcing the release of their “FanMoji” app in the same week. While offering a less personalised (in terms of the NFL players and coaches) keyboard, they’ve also looked to jump on the popularity of the start of the NFL season by making their emojis specific to NFL.

It takes the rise of the emoji in a strange direction with emojis already a widely used element on Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat.
