KIA deal meaning sponsorship on all NBA Shirts on the way?

The NBA has had a mammoth month in terms of digital and sponsorship news. This time it involves the player kit.

Official sponsors (excluding kit suppliers) have been kept away from NBA team shirts in the past however that will change in the next couple of months. Car manufacturer KIA is set to be the first brand present on NBA shirts for the All Star Game in 2016 and 2017. They are likely to be on both player kit and sales kit.

 

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson becomes new Under Armor ambassador

Dwayne Johnson will join Golden State Warrior NBA player Stephen Curry as an ambassador for the American apparel brand Under Armor. The former wrestler, athlete and current Hollywood actor will front ads for Under Armor who has set their sights on Nike after leapfrogging Adidas into the number two ranked brand in the US.

 

Orange to make UEFA Euro 2016 one of most connected football events ever

Orange, the French telecommunications company this week became the official Telecommunications Service Provider of the European football Championships that will take place in France in 2016

The company’s goal is to create an event that is 100% connected with the telecoms giant rolling out 25,000 access points and mobile services and mobilise 800 engineers and experts.

Orange’s Vice President of Communications and Brand Beatrice Mandine said “our sponsorship of these games is just the start of a new legacy that Orange is building to connect people to what’s essential in their lives.”

 

Follow the World Series via Twitter’s Moments

This month, Twitter rolled out their new feature Moments in the USA. Via this new service you can watch the best of Twitter at a glimpse. Users have access to videos and GIFs and the ability to share these with their own network.

To promote Moments, Twitter proposed from Wednesday the best of World Series (MLB) via its new tab. It is a very similar concept to NFL Stories on Snapchat.

An live football event planned by Adidas that is 100% digital

To prepare for the UEFA EURO 2016, the tournament’s major sponsor Adidas have organised a mid-November football event in Paris in an arena with 50 000 fans that is 100% digital!

The arena includes stands of 5 metres, fans videos on walls, virtual applause, virtual cries, billboards, screens. One of the first of its kind.
