Nike hits back with EUROs ad magic in “The Switch”
Nike has launched its latest campaign on the eve of the EUROs, unveiling an impressive and lengthy ad called “The Switch”.
In the wake of adidas’ dominance on social media as well as Beats’ unofficial jump onto the EUROs bandwagon, the ad times in just under six minutes with Nike going all out for the advertisement.
It features a total of 16 Nike Football ambassadors including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Anthony Martial, Harry Kane, Raphael Varane, Raheem Sterling, Joe Hart, Ricardo Quaresma or Javier Mascherano.
The ad is Nike’s longest, surpassing “The Last Game” launched by the brand prior to the start of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Finals in Brazil.
The ad depicts Cristiano Ronaldo accidentally striking a ballboy during a match between Portugal and England. The clash results in a ‘switch’ of bodies with Cristiano Ronaldo transported into the young ballboy’s and visa versa.
The ad coincides with the start of the EUROs which kick off tomorrow and the launch of Nike’s new football boot range which users and fans can follow using the hashtag #SparkBrilliance.
Requiring an almost unprecedented shoot time of five days, it is, according to Cristiano Ronaldo himself, the longest shoot he has ever done.
