Paris Saint-Germain introduce new hashtag to increase fan involvement

Ahead of PSG’s Champions League clash with Chelsea on Wednesday night, the club has launched the #PSGBlockbuster campaign throughout its Twitter channels to generate fan involvement in the fixture.

The hashtag is used to recreate historic cinematic moments or posters with current PSG stars and encourage fans to play along. The club pokes fun at the film industry, tweeting images like “Parisian Sniper,” “Flaco Unchained” and “The Artist” starring Marco Verrati.

The use of comedy is good way for those looking for exposure to make an impact in the world of social media. PSG posted some examples of how the campaign should work and what fans should strive for.

The fans have gotten involved and started tweeting the hashtag on their own.

Chelsea supporters have responded as well.

This is another great example of social media acting as a build up to the action on the pitch in what could be a Hollywood scripted match.
