British football Brand Mitre renews partnership with Football Content Awards

The Football Content Awards today announced that it has renewed their partnership with football brand Mitre for the 2020 edition of the annual event, celebrating and rewarding the individuals, teams and organisations in the football media industry.

The move sees the football specialists’ team up with the Football Content Awards for a second year running, continuing their official category sponsorship and receiving naming rights to the ‘Best Young Content Creator’ award.

A global brand, Mitre is the official ball supplier for several leagues and competitions in both the men’s and women’s game, most notably The Emirates FA Cup, football’s oldest competition.

“We’re really excited to continue our sponsorship of the ‘Best Young Content Creator’ award. As a result of sponsoring the award last year, we’re proud to be working with the 2019 winner of this category – Max Hayes to create content for our partnership with The Emirates FA Cup. Max is now helping to create engaging Mitre content for a younger footballing audience. We look forward to seeing the nominees and attending this years event.”  – Andrea Fehsenfeld, Brand Manager Mitre.

This follows the news of The Football Content Awards’ rebrand from The Football Blogging Awards. The event continues to celebrate and reward the online content creation industry in football with the name change coming from the growth of the online media in football since the inaugural event in 2012.

Anthony Cooper, Co-Founder of the Football Content Awards adds: “Thanks to Mitre, the Football Content Awards can continue to grow in line with the fast pace of online football media. We’re delighted that the team at Mitre will be joining us at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in May, and maintain and grow their support of the younger generation of content creators. Mitre’s prestige is unmatched within the industry and we are excited to welcome them to be part of the Football Content Awards 2020.”

The Football Content Awards is the most significant event in the calendar for all those within the online media industry in football, recognising and honouring the best football websites, social influencers, creators and vloggers around the world. It is when the individuals, teams and organisations are recognised by fans, followers and their peers and win one of the many prestigious honours that are on offer on the night. The Awards attracts one of the biggest social engagement campaigns of the year, receiving over 2000 nominations in 2019 from over 850,000 votes and reaching over 40 million fans. Past locations have been held at Old Trafford, Etihad Stadium, Alexandra Palace and the National Football Museum. The 2020 edition of the event will be held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on May 21st.
