Esports bookmaker Unikrn finds dropped Arsenal star is top of the table among footballers

Mesut Ozil’s Esports team have won more in FIFA Prize Money than any other footballer’s side – despite the Arsenal player not kicking a ball all season, according to research by world-leading esports betting company Unikrn.

The German, who reportedly earns £350,000-a-week, was left out of Arsenal’s Premier League squad by manager Mikel Arteta.

And so in fact it’s been his esports side, M10, that have been strutting their stuff on the pitch – winning £66,712 in FIFA tournament prize money so far.

Revenue for the esports industry is forecast to exceed $1billion in 2020 and research from Unikrn shows that Ozil’s empire has made more money than teams backed by David Beckham, Gareth Bale and Sergio Aguero.

Behind Ozil, Real Madrid No 1. Thibaut Courtois is in second place, with total winnings of £44,867 for his side Dux.

In third place, Gareth Bale’s organisation Ellevens have brought in £22,959, placing them ahead of David Beckham’s Guild Esports who are in fourth spot with a prize pot of £11,410.

Antoine Griezmann’s Grizi Esports team have brought in £6,465 to date. Future FC, owned by former Liverpool star Álvaro Arbeloa have won £4,565.

Leicester City’s Austrian international Christian Fuchs team, No Fuchs Given, have picked up £3,044 in prize money.

Cesar Azpileceuta’s Falcons are penniless having entered two FIFA tournaments to date.

LENO owned by Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno and KRÜ ESports owned by Sergio Aguero are yet to play in a ranked FIFA tournament, but could be ones to watch in 2021.
