True Geordie, WillNE and Stephen Tries partner with Ball Street to launch XO

Football social media marketing specialists Ball Street have teamed up with some of the UK’s leading YouTube talent to launch a new sports channel, XO.

The True Geordie (710k subscribers), WillNE (1m subscribers) and Stephen Tries (425k subscribers) will be the starting line-up for the channel’s launch and XO will be a new heavyweight in YouTube content.

XO will be producing new, original content for sports fans: from football culture, documentaries and must-see sports experiences around the world, along with podcasts, interviews and much more.

The deal also sees the True Geordie and his podcast become part of the Ball Street Network – Ball Street’s collective of content creators and influencers that have an aggregated social reach of 85m.

Also joining Ball Street are Adam Boultwood, Head of Content, and Laurence McKenna (a recent Digital Sport Insider guest) as Creative Director. Adam has helped build successful YouTube channels such as Football Daily and The Football Republic, while Laurence has worked as creative producer on many of the leading football channels and with major brands such as Adidas.

The True Geordie said: “We’ve seen the first generation of football channels, and they’ve gone unchallenged – until now. “What makes XO different is that we have some of the most talented people YouTube has to offer under one roof. On camera in Will, Stephen, Laurence and myself, I believe we have the dream team and, with Ball Street backing us, this project will be unbeatable. We’ll soon be making some of the best content this space has ever seen, trust me on that.”

Matt Wilson, Ball Street CEO and co-founder said: “We’re making great progress commercially and now, with XO, we have the premium, marquee sports channel we’ve been looking for. We’re excited to be building XO with Will, Stephen and True Geordie and, along with Adam and Laurence we feel we’ve assembled the best squad in the league and we’ll soon be competing with the best for silverware.”

XO launched on Saturday 17th February 2018. YouTube: www.youtube.com/XOonYT
