This is the most social of any Olympic Games to date – and this infographic has all the stats

Every Olympic games takes us closer to the action. From the advent of TV to the ability to watch whichever live event was going on at that particular moment, right through to the advent of social media, the Olympic Games has always been ameliorated by technology.

This time it was no different. Twitter played an ever-growing role, as did Snapchat and Facebook Live. Even Robots got in on the action!

Well thanks to some fantastic work by the good folk over at Adweek, you can see just what sort of impact was made by the athletes and brands across social media over the Olympics.

They reveal that Katie Ledecky was the most talked-about record breaker on social media over the games – and by some distance! Another interesting tidbit is that Under Armour’s ad featuring Michael Phelps was shared 300k times since its release, making it the fifth most watched Olympics ad of all time – and that’s despite not even being an official sponsor of the games!

You can view the full infographic here – and it really is worth a look!
