The Ageas Bowl’s England v Australia ODI Sold Out After Huge Early Demand

The Ageas Bowl’s One-Day International between England and Australia on Tuesday 14th July 2020 is now sold out.

In response to significant demand for tickets for recent international fixtures and following a fantastic summer which saw record crowds enjoy cricket across the country, tickets to both of next year’s international matches at the Ageas Bowl, including an IT20 between England and Pakistan on Wednesday 2nd September, were subject to a priority sale and ballot.

The huge demand for the event goes to show just what an impact hosting a sport and giving it significant coverage can do for improving participation, knowledge, understanding and demand for more of it. The Ashes and the World Cup look like they’ve had a significant impact.

With more than 17,500 ballot applications received, the huge demand has seen all tickets for England’s 50-over fixture against Australia snapped up before the general sale, even with thousands of additional temporary seats added for the fixture.

Despite England v Australia having now sold out, there is still an opportunity for fans who missed out during the initial stages of the priority period and ballot to secure their seat, with an allocation of tickets held exclusively for 2020 Hampshire Members.

Those joining or renewing as a Hampshire Member for 2020 are able to purchase up to four discounted tickets for the huge Australia ODI as well as the England v Pakistan IT20.

Additional seating has also already been added following the priority sale and ballot period for next year’s second limited-overs international at the Ageas Bowl, as ICC 2019 Cricket World Cup winners England return for an IT20 clash against Pakistan.

The Ageas Bowl Chief Executive, David Mann said: “2019 has been an exceptional summer for the game of cricket, and the incredible drama that we have witnessed on the field has captured the imagination of the public and has created unprecedented interest in next summer’s international fixtures.

“We’re delighted to announce that the England v Australia ODI on 14 July is sold out, and demand for the England v Pakistan IT20 on 2 September means we are also on course for a second full house. We’re looking forward to hosting two exceptional fixtures in the unique setting of the Ageas Bowl.”

Non-members will be able to secure their seats for the England v Pakistan IT20 with tickets and hospitality packages going on general sale at 10am on Thursday (10th October) via www.ageasbowl.com.
