Sports Technology Awards signs The Sporting Club as new global partner

Private member’s network, The Sporting Club, is the latest company to sign a Global Partnership with the Sports Technology Awards Group ahead of this year’s awards.

Award-winning journalist and author Ian Stafford is the founder of The Sporting club, a business networking proposition based on its membership’s love of sport. Offering members, the use of club houses across London Manchester and Dublin, the club provides additional services such as intimate events with major names in sport, and the opportunity for members to benefit from the networking on offer.

Rebecca Hopkins, CEO of the Sports Technology Awards Group, explained the relationship: ‘Our business is fundamentally a B2B proposition, so networking is a core part of what we do. By partnering with The Sporting Club, we can create an even more valuable network for our benefactors, as well as giving them access to city-centre bases internationally. Additionally, The Sporting Club gives its members access to elite athletes across a wide range of sports, as is evidenced by the role it is playing at our next major event. This is The Yahoo Sports Technology Awards on May 2nd in London, where Sporting Club’s network of sports legends will be on hand as category presenters.’

Ian Stafford, The Sporting Club’s, Owner and Founder, added: ‘I’ve enjoyed seeing the work of STA Group evolve over the past few years and it is an indisputable fact that technology and sport are now inextricably linked. Our membership – both business people in sports and the wider commercial world, as well as our athlete network – are fascinated by this, so we believe that our members and those who support the work of the STA Group are naturally aligned in their business thinking and interests. We look forward to opening our doors to more technology visionaries from the sports world and are excited to be a key part of the Yahoo Sports Technology Awards ceremony.’
