SportHackTag – a digital recap

Ushering in an era where the sports landscape is now directly impacted by rapidly changing technology, the first event exclusively dedicated to digital innovation in sport took place earlier in the week at the Emirates Stadium in North London.

Converging on the home of Arsenal Football Club were representatives from the biggest clubs, leagues, organisations in the world as well as some of the most influential digital agencies. With the goal of the summit focused on not only bringing these entities together for one-on-one meetings but for some of them to share what each organisation is utilising in terms of technology, there was understandably a wealth of information on offer and a lot to take away.

Take a look at some of the best action from the summit with all speakers painting themes of a rapidly changing digital paradigm and one in which data about users/fans/consumers is becoming the most key aspect.

Samsung Asia’s Maurizio Barbieri, who Digital Sport was lucky enough to get 15 minutes with prior to the event starting, was particularly in-depth regarding the evolution of virtual reality and where the big players in the tech industry are headed.

Luca La Mesa’s speech was also very insightful as he gave a general view on what fans are looking for on social media. “Exclusive”, “Fast” and “Unique” were the key words he used.
