Red Bull launch new behind-the-scenes docuseries, MX World: The KTM Diarie

With the 2021 FIM Motocross World Championship fast approaching, go behind the scenes with Cairoli and therest of all-star Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team – including Jeffrey Herlings, Jorge Prado, Tom Vialle and Rene Hofer – as they chase down career-defining victories and battle their way through the high-stakes 2020 MXGP season

As the world’s elite motocross riders prepare for the start of the 2021 MXGP season in May, fans are invited to step inside the world of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing stars across a six-episode docuseries that centres around a tumultuous 2020 both on and off track. The behind-the-scenes docuseries is available to watch in full on Red Bull TV.

Nine-time world champion, Tony Cairoli, is already a legend of the sport but with a record-equaling 10th title within touching distance, the series takes an up-close-and-personal look at the Italian as he fights to see off thechallenge from his young and hungry teammates, Herlings and Prado, and cement his place in the history books.

Dutchman Herlings and Spaniard Prado have their own personal challenges to overcome as they aim to take thetitle, with a life-changing crash proving to be a defining moment in Herlings’ season and the physical demands of racing at the pinnacle of the sport taking its toll on Prado. Viewers also get to see the season through the eyes of Frenchman Tom Vialle and Austria’s Rene Hofer – the two rising stars of the KTM Factory team who are jostling for MX2 glory and a right to compete in MXGP.

Tony Cairoli commented: “2020 was a wild season for us all and one of the most unique in my riding career. Theexperience will serve me well as I prepare for the start of the 2021 MXGP season and I hope the fans are as excited about the new series as I am. I cannot wait to get back out there and attempt to win a tenth WorldChampionship.”

The access-all-areas docuseries will debut ahead of the highly anticipated 2021 MXGP season, with the gate set to drop on Sunday 23rd May, in Oss, Netherlands.

MX World: The KTM Diaries is available for viewing on Red Bull TV from 10:00 AM CEST on Tuesday 30thMarch. Individual episodes will also be released weekly on the Red Bull Motorsport YouTube channel.

Episode 1 (YouTube release date: 30th March, 1600 CEST)

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has a stable of elite European motocross riders – from legends of the discipline to emerging talents, meet the riders that are spearheading the team’s dominance of the MX World Championship and its feeder series. The series opening charts Red Bull KTM’s journey through the MXGP calendar, navigating the pandemic-enforced pause, with insight on this special racing team from the people behind it.

Episode 2 (YouTube release date: 6th April, 1600 CEST)

Tony Cairoli has dominated European motocross for an entire generation. With nine world championships under his belt, can he compete with a fresh crop of riders who are ten years his junior? As Tony continues to circle theglobe in search of a tenth world title, meet the man who has an unrivalled sporting ethic, and the grounding of a loving family behind him as he continues to compete in MXGP.

Episode 3 (YouTube release date 13th April, 1600 CEST)

Meet the rockstar Jeffrey Herlings. He already has one world championship to his name, but his 2020 campaign was derailed by an accident during practice in Italy. In this episode, the Dutchman reflects on his harrowing crash and subsequent injuries, and seeks to regain his swagger as he aims to bring the MXGP title back home to RedBull KTM.

Episode 4 (YouTube release date 20th April, 1600 CEST)

Jorge Prado exploded into the top tier after back-to-back MX2 title wins. Follow the determined young Spaniard as he gets to grips with the heightened intensity of riding in MXGP. Prado capitalises on the season’s interruption to raise his fitness game, but can he come back stronger to live up to the hype? The episode also shines a light on Prado’s unique family life, where his dedicated father moved their life from Spain to Belgium at an early age so that young Jorge could break into professional riding.

Episode 5 (YouTube release date 27th April 1600 CEST)

Red Bull KTM have thrown their trust into a home-country hero. 17-year-old Austrian Rene Hofer was blistering his way through junior championships when he was brought into the Red Bull fold. His rookie season in MX2 sees him within touching distance of his riding idols, but can Hofer put in the performances to demand a promotion and join the likes of Cairoli and Herlings in MXGP?

Episode 6 (YouTube release date 4th May 1600 CEST)

Rising star Tom Vialle is a quiet, calm young Frenchman, but his performances in MX2 have shown an entirely different beast. After taking the paddock by storm in 2019, the 2020 season was his time to ascend to the top of the series. Flying neck-and-neck alongside Belgian rival Jago Geerts, Vialle must hold his nerve and put RedBull KTM on-top of MX2.
