Newly-launched World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe signs first partnership with Sportradar OTT
The newly formed World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe (WBSC Europe) has today announced the signing of Sportradar as its inaugural partner and service provider.
Sportradar’s OTT platform solution will become the first joint initiative of the newly formed WBSC Europe following the historic merger between European Softball Federation (ESF) and Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) last week in Paris.
The platform will provide live and on-demand streaming of a number of baseball and softball tournaments across Europe, including all Pan-European Competitions, such as the European Championships, Super6 and Youth Championships. Looking forward, Sportradar’s OTT is also set to support the national competitions and leagues of member federations in the future.
Sportradar Managing Director of OTT, Rainer Geier said: “We are very pleased to have been signed as the first partner of the new WBSC Europe. This new initiative will help enhance the popularity and visibility of both softball and baseball across Europe with both live and on-demand broadcasts and video content available for fans. This is yet another quality initiative that will see Sportradar’s OTT services used to help broadcast sport direct to fans, joining our already established partnerships with federations such as the European Handball Federation (EHF), EuroHockey, ITF and ITTF.”
ESF President, Gabriel Waage underlined: “The joint platform will concentrate all softball and baseball streaming in one place. That is great news for all fans and for all potential followers and supporters.”
CEB Vice President and Head of Marketing and Media, Rainer Husty added: “This a unique chance to position our sport on a strong, joint platform. We see a lot of potential in this project for the growth of our game and are very happy to have Sportradar as a partner on our side.”
