Liverpool add daily club briefing video to Echo Show to keep fans abreast of news

Liverpool have announced that they will become the first Premier League football club to enable a video flash briefing on Amazon’s new Echo Show which, just like the Echo and Echo Dot, is power by the Alexa voice command software.

Fans of the Anfield club will be able to simply ask Alexa for Liverpool news and it will respond with a video rounding up the day’s news from the football club.

Made by LFCTV, and featuring voices and faces familiar to Liverpool fans from the platform, the video will brief fans on the goings-on at the club as they get on with their normal, everyday lives without having to seek out news from various other outlets.

This news comes on the back of the LFC Skill that the club taught Alexa last year, which enabled fans to get similar briefings on the Echo and Echo Dot, which don’t support the video format, but Liverpool will continue to provide users with the briefing on those platforms, too.

Billy Hogan, LFC’s managing director and chief commercial officer, said: “For Liverpool FC to be the first Premier League club with a video flash briefing on the Amazon Echo Show is a great coup. I’m delighted that we’re at the forefront of innovation when it comes to bringing LFC news to our fans.”

“We’re excited to provide Liverpool fans with an easy and natural way to get the latest news from Anfield and Melwood,” added Fabrice Rousseau, director, Alexa Skills Kit EU. “Reds fans can now get the same high quality briefings they are used to with the LFC News skill, but now with images to match—just by asking Alexa”
