FC Bayern Munich teams up with Beats by Dre

FC Bayern Munich has announced a partnership with American-based earphone specialist Beats by Dre in the first sign the football giant is starting to focus on attracting the US Market.

Already partnering with FC Bayern’s superstar midfielder Mario Gotze and Brazilian genius Neymar, the earphone brand will become the official headphones and speakers partner of the entire team. It signals the first deal with a European football club and it won’t be surprising to see other European clubs follow suit considering the potential of the deals and the popularity of the headphones.

The Apple-owned company has gained a lot of popularity by partnering up with athletes like LeBron James and Serena Williams and in 2015, executed somewhat of an ambush marketing strategy for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

To what extent the Beats by Dre logo will appear on FC Bayern Munich’s team apparel or at Allianz Stadium is unknown. But one can assume that Beats by Dre will ensure their logo and branding are associated with the football giant wherever it can be.

FC Bayern Munich’s Marketing Board Executive Andreas Jung said that the music players listened to in their warm-up was as important as their physical warm-up

“With Beats, we have found an internationally recognized partner who understands the symbiotic relationship between music and sports like no other,” he said.

“We are excited that headphones and speakers by Beats are now an integral part of the FC Bayern Munich team equipment.”

The partnership signals the continuation of a very busy month for FC Bayern Munich who has also signed deals with Yahoo Sports and a Thai Sugar company.
