(Final date TBC) Blockchain: What are the implications & opportunities for the sport sector?

June 3, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

One of the most potentially transformative new technologies to emerge over the last decade is arguably one of the most misunderstood. Blockchain is a term that many struggle to get their heads around and it’s too often intrinsically linked to cryptocurrency and the darkweb.

But that’s a mindset worth changing, as blockchain is proving to be a method of securing transactional data in a way that’s ensuring it can’t be amended or disrupted in transit – whether that’s accidentally or maliciously.

In a time of decreasing trust, blockchain provides a secure way of sending information and has a number of potential uses.

So what’s in it for sport? From sending information on player data, to uses in fan engagement and monetisation, we’re assembling a panel of experts to explain what blockchain is and what potential it has to revolutionise sports organisations.

Date and location are yet to be confirmed, but to register your interest for this event please email our editor at contact@digitalsport.co for instant updates when we announce them.
