Welcome to 2020 – the third decade of the new millennium!

In line with a new decade, we’re seeing a new format for the Euros, one never seen before in the history of the competition and one which will come with its own digital complexities.

This tournament is one of the most important sporting events in the calendar, but 2020’s will arguably be one of the most ambitious ever staged, as the Euros will come to 12 host cities in 12 different nations. It’s a whole month of football across a whole continent with a major trophy up for grabs.

That’s a tough event for any organisation to pull off, especially from a digital perspective. So we’ll ask our panellists: how have the event organisers, football entities and sponsors used digital and technology to overcome the challenges that come with hosting a tournament in multiple venues in many different cities and cultures?

This will help us delve into the logistical challenges of staging a major event (whether it’s in one city or 12), and understand the digital and commercial nuances of hosting an event in several territories.

All this and more will be discussed as we look ahead to an event whose final is being hosted in London’s very own Wembley Stadium.
