We are delighted to partner with the Yahoo Sports Technology Awards to launch our January DSLondon event – New Technology Showcase, Investment and Incubation.
New tech has been a game changer in the sports world in the past and in our digital age, innovation will only become more important. However, when it comes to sport there are often misconceptions about new technology and how to implement it – some sports are seen as being left behind when it comes to the adoption of new advancements, or the pre-technological nature of sport itself mean that it can be overlooked.
Indeed, sports tech doesn’t even have to be based around sport. Just as GPS tracking has led to apps like Strava revolutionising personal fitness, clubs, teams and leagues can benefit from technologies that didn’t necessarily have sport in mind when they were being created.
That’s why January’s Digital Sport London event will feature three of the past winners of the Sports Tech Awards on a panel to discuss their journey, their product and their technology’s application in sport as well as the investment and incubation landscape. Moderated by Rebecca Hopkins, CEO of the Sports Technology Award, this is sure to be an insightful evening.
Where are the opportunities for new technologies in sport? How difficult is it to start up in that world? And what should we all be doing in order to encourage creativity and growth that benefits the industry as a whole?
Join us at Pinsent Masons in central London in the new year to find out much more!
