Eleven Sports secures Super Cup rights in Poland & Portugal

ELEVEN SPORTS will bring live and exclusive coverage of the Spanish Super Cup to fans in Poland and Portugal this week.

The tournament will see Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Valencia in action at the 62,000-capacity King Abdullah Sports City stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Valencia take on Real Madrid in the tournament opener on Wednesday 8th January, with Barcelona up against Atletico Madrid on Thursday 9th January. The winners then meet in the final on Sunday 12th January.

This is the second year in a row that the cup will be contested in Saudi Arabia, with last year’s one-game showdown seeing Barcelona face Sevilla. That game alone was the first time the Supercopa de España was decided in one match, with previous finals held in Spain played over two legs, home and away. This year’s competition sees a further mix-up to the schedule with the tournament looking to be reinvented.

The Super Cup supplements a strong portfolio of football rights in both Poland and Portugal. Across the two markets, ELEVEN fans can enjoy all the action from La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Serie A, the UEFA Champions League and much more.

Danny Menken, Group Managing Director, ELEVEN SPORTS, said: “The Super Cup is bringing together LaLiga’s top teams for what promises to be three strong match-ups. It’s a great way to kick off a top-quality calendar of football for ELEVEN fans in 2020.”
