Team GB ready for Rio 2016

adidas and fashion designer Stella McCartner have unveiled the new Team GB and Paralympics GB kit for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The new kit mixes tradition and modernity and features a new official and unique British Coat of Arms, commissioned by adidas and created by The College of Arms. Also following on from tradition, the kit’s colours are red, blue and white, following theme of the Union Flag.

To help the athletes perform at their best, the kits are 10% lighter than in 2012. adidas and McCartney have also worked closely with Team GB superstars including Jessica Ennis-Hill, Tom Daley and Laura Trott to get their opinions and requirements during the two-year design process.

Alicia Keys to perform at UCL final

Champions League “presenting sponsor” Pepsi have enlisted R’n’B superstar Alicia Keys to perform the opening ceremony at this season’s Champions League Final.

Similar to Pepsi’s Halftime Show at the Super Bowl, this will be the first time that a global megastar has performed the ceremony.

Fans across the world will be able to watch the show which will be broadcast in 220 countries. The Champions League final is the most watched sports events in the world reaching an estimated global live audience of 180 million viewers.

UEFA’s Marketing Director, Guy-Laurent Epstein, said that it was appropriate that such a big name performed at an event that aroused so much global interest.

“With such a highly respected and truly global artist performing ahead of the final, it heightens even further the appeal of the match and consequently will reach a broader audience demographic,” he said.
