AS Roma launch creative quiz to get their fans up for the Chelsea game this midweek

After a week off last week to allow for a myriad of domestic competitions all around Europe, the Champions League is back this midweek with a repeat of the ties from the last matchday – just flipped around as the away teams from last week get to face their rivals on their own patches this time.

One side who really did perform above expectations last week was AS Roma, who travelled to London and unexpectedly drew 3-3 with Chelsea in a pulsating game of football. The two scorers on the night were Edin Dzeko and Aleksandar Kolarov, known very well to English fans after the two represented Manchester City with distinction over the years.

To celebrate that, and build up to their encounter in the Italian capital this week, Roma did what they always do: something interesting and new on social media.

This time it was a quiz in the form of a quirky and different online platform. Made for phones, but accessible on desktop, Roma fans were asked questions in the style of a Facebook Messenger conversation by a ‘user’ whose display photo is a cartoon avatar of manager Eusebio di Francesco.

Fans are then treated to a replay of Dzeko’s stunning volleyed equaliser against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and then given stats and other information about their side’s Champions League performance so far, and then given the opportunity to buy tickets for the midweek match at the end.

Another creative piece of online engagement from Roma surely helps to keep their fans geared up for their huge Champions League night this week at home. And you can have a go at the quiz yourself, here.
