William Hill signs deal with Football governing body

British bookmaker William Hill has agreed a new four-year sponsorship deal with the Scottish FA despite their current agreement still having one year remaining.

In addition to remaining the title sponsor of the country’s elite club knockout competition and an official partner of the Scottish national team, William Hill will also now sponsor the South Stand at Hampden Park, Scotland’s national stadium.

Scottish FA Chief Executive Stewart Regan said that they were delighted that William Hill continued their investment in Scottish football.

“I am delighted that we have extended and evolved our partnership with William Hill and thankful that they will continue to make such a positive contribution to Scottish football as a whole,” he said.

“William Hill are synonymous with the success of the Scottish Cup and have reiterated their commitment to the game in this country as official partners of the Scotland national team and now sponsor of Hampden Park’s South Stand. With William Hill’s ongoing support, we look forward to growing Scottish football’s reach and popularity for years to come.”

The bookmaker became the official title sponsor of the Scottish Cup in 2011 in a deal reportedly worth approximately £1 million. But while the financial terms of this new agreement haven’t been released, a statement by the Scottish FA said that William Hill’s investment in Scottish soccer has surpassed the eight-figure mark as a result of the renewal.

On top of announcing the early renewal, the Scottish FA has announced that it will sign a “betting integrity agreement” with William Hill.
