Who’s Leading the Tour de France Social Media Race – Stages 1-9 [Infographic]

I came across this interesting infographic from the guys at BicyleRetailer.com that is worth sharing (didn’t guess I’d be saying that at any stage).  They are releasing a new one each week to chart the progress of the different riders and team’s social media accounts.

It breaks it down into who has gained most followers – potential impact on sponsorships and reach – and total amount of mentions of the TDF in general on the major platforms.  It has by all accounts been a frenetic race this year with crashes, tacks on the road (again sadly), injuries and great wins.

For any cycling fan its a must, and with the coverage it gained here in the UK with Sir Bradley Wiggins becoming the first British man to win the coverted title last year even more so.  This year it all about his colleague Chris Froome and also the sprint king Mark Cavendish.  Can they bring more glory to these shores after the highs of the last weekend?  We shall see.
