Last night Tiger hosted an unannounced Q&A session from his twitter account answering a flurry of questions before having to disappear off to a media engagement.

The former world no.1 golfer (recently displaced by England’s Lee Westwood – another new twitter addict) was having a lesson in how to use twitter and a Q&A was a great way of learning how to respond as well as gain more followers….and more respect from sceptics to his appearance on the platform.

With over 250k followers he still have some way to get to twitters favourite golfer, our very own Ian Poulter who has over 1m.

What do you think of his new found openness with his fans and will it last?  There are obvious benefits for individual sports personalities like those in golf on using social media properly (sponsorship, media exposure, etc).
