Sports getting the YouTube treatment

Exclusive Sports Media (ESM) has signed a strategic partnership with YouTube agency ChannelFlip to develop the ESM sports YouTube.

ESM is an online sports platform focusing on a variety of sports, using mainstream sports to showcase minor & para sports.
Giving young athletes the opportunity to showcase their talents, helping sports fans learn skills from different sports through tutorials with Top Athletes.

ChannelFlip has over 150 YouTube channels they help develop, commercialise & increase viewership. The network boasts almost 20 million subscribers, with over 2 billion views!  Over the next 6 months sport is to become a big feature for ChannelFlip as they have successfully developed global channels in music, comedy, beauty and Sci-Fi.

ESM Managing Director Lewis Scott;

“We are delighted to partner with ChannelFlip, over the last 18 months we have developed our portfolio & positioning in the sports world working with a number of brands, athletes and sports projects. We feel that this partnership can help our value of being ‘Truly dedicated to sport’ reach a mass audience, we are unique in the way we use mainstream & action sports to increase the recognition on less known sports.”

ESM are currently in the production process of a variety of sports content including sports dramas & comedies which are scripted and use social issues to show how sport can positively affect them, tutorials with top athletes in a variety of sports giving sports fans valuable tips on different skills, profiles of young athletes and some artistic pieces with extreme sport athletes.

Susi Weaser, Head of Partner Management at ChannelFlip;

“we are excited to have ESM joint our ever growing network. In the last year football channels and action sport channels have become increasingly  popular. We feel that there is value in showcasing other sports amongst mainstream sports as the athletes certainly deserve the recognition. The new content ESM are creating will be exciting, inspiring and entertaining – we look forward to seeing some of our existing partners get sporty!”

ChannelFlip recently featured on BBC’s culture show this month (September) talking about YouTubers positioning in the world today and if they are the new TV, it certainly showed a case that following & viewing numbers are high but the current content online is different to TV productions, even though that is slowly starting to change. Live Sports is something starting to move online and it is within ESM’s plans to introduce live sports on its platform within the next couple of years.

ESM’s vision & ambition is clear to see and this has included Commonwealth Gold Medalist Squash player Adrian Grant coming on board as an ambassador.  The next year is massive for Adrian as he prepares for the commonwealth games to defend his title as well as his European & World Team titles.

Adrian Grant;

‘I’m excited to be on board with ESM, it is an exciting sports company and I love their dedication to sports. Helping to bridge the gap between community and elite sport plus showcasing a variety of sports in a positive light. It’s an exciting new era for sport online.’
