Sky Bet secures Football League naming rights extension

Sky Bet has secured the naming rights of England’s Football League until at least 2019 after signing a three year extension of its deal with the competition.

The oldest professional football league in the world which comprises of the second, third and fourth tiers of English football will receive a re-branding next season and will be known as the English Football League (EFL) from the start of the 2016/2017 season.

The deal extension will see the introduction of new logos for each division as well as for the end-of-season playoffs. It will also introduce special offers for Football League fans.

While no financial details have been released, the title sponsorship reverts to being a standalone commercial element after being packaged into a five-year television deal with Sky Sports after a deal was made in 2013.

Sky Bet Chief Executive said that they’ve been delighted to work with the League and that it’s a win win for all parties involved.

“Over the last couple of seasons we’ve loved working with the League, its clubs and the fans, and so are delighted to extend Sky Bet’s sponsorship”, he said.

“We are proud to continue our investment in such a fantastic competition and look forward to making betting better for football fans.”
