Ryan Babel has his Twitter account hacked

This afternoon ex-Liverpool winger Ryan Babel found out about the pain that hacking can be.  There have been cases when this has happened to corporate accounts but I think this is forst time a footballer has fallen victim.

What makes it even stranger is that the person who has gained access doesnt seem to know who he is and is determined to taunt Babel as much as possible.  The annoyance for the player is that he is accessing his account via his phone, as many sportspeople do, and the only way of changing the password is via the web.

I dont see this causeing any lasting damage as it is very obvious that the tweets are not from him ut it does serve as a warning of how easy it can be for someone to gain access to your online identity.  I think from now he will be changing it on a regular basis to ensure nothing like this happens again.

here is when the hacker first starts tweeting and you can see Ryan’s reaction to it (one of shock and surprise)….

and here it continues with the hacker taunting the player as there is nothing he can do to stop him….

It looks like it has been sorted out now and it could have been a lot worse than it turned out.  Better to have a joker take over your account and take the mickey rather than one out to cause some serious damage.  The main damage, aside from the messgaes was that he went down from following over 300 people to now only 37.

Lesson – keep your passwords safe, dont make them obvious and change them on a regular basis.
