PSG appoints its official chauffeur in new deal

French football giant Paris Saint-Germain has signed a partnership with the French and European leader in individual transportation, Taxis G7, which will become the club’s official chauffeur.

Under the new deal, the transportation company will set up a collection of services dedicated to PSG fans in order to be their primary transportation service to the club’s home ground Parc des Princes. This includes preferential rates and an exclusive zone around the stadium specifically for Taxis G7’s drivers.

In addition, the company will roll out digital features and enable fans to book a journey online with their game ticket. It also involves the addition of a connected button named “G7 One Clic” which will feature in PSG shops inside the stadium that allows fans to instantly book a journey with the service.

PSG’s Merchandising Director Fabien Allegre said the company offers the best service possible to transport fans to the stadium.

“We are proud to welcome Taxis G7 to Paris Saint-Germain family. With this partnership, PSG is continuing to improve fan experience in the stadium,” he added.

This kind of deal between clubs and transportation companies is starting to be a trend in within the industry following the agreement between Olympique Lyonnais and Uber. As stadiums are more and more connected, partnerships between clubs and connected services seem evident to satisfy fans inside as well as outside stadiums. And Uber will likely be kicking themselves that they couldn’t secure the services of Parc des Princes.
