PODCAST: BBC Sport’s Head of Digital & Radio, Ben Gallop, on 18 years at BBC, Rio 2016 + more
Ben Gallop is BBC Sport’s Head of Digital & Radio and has been with the broadcaster for 18 years in various roles.
Having started as a print journalist and becoming involved in ‘new media’ during the late 1990’s, he arrived in 1998 when the BBC covered the World Cup online for the first time.
Working on BBC interactive, formula 1 and radio 5 live before his current role he has a wealth of experience in digital and sport.
We talked about the Rio 2016 Olympics, working with some of the best people in the world, his love of sport, what drives him each day, the failure of 3D TV, opportunities for ‘minority’ sports and what’s next for the BBC after losing the TV rights for F1, golf and the Bake Off!
