Nissan launches selfie challenge to take fans to the UCL final

UEFA Champions League partner, Nissan, has launched its latest digital marketing activation of the season named “#TakeMeToMilan”, offering a trip to the final in Milan to 25 fans.

As part of the competition, 25 lucky fans will win the opportunity to stand on the San Siro pitch during half-time to wave the Champions League’s centre-circle flag.

To launch the operation, the car manufacturer has unveiled a video on Facebook ahead of this week’s quarter finals featuring its football ambassador and FC Barcelona’s captain Andrés Iniesta encouraging fans to share a selfie in the comments to win. The video portrays Iniesta surprising people on the beach asking selfies.

Vice President of Marketing for Nissan Europe Jean Pierre Diernaz said that as a partner of the competition, it was important that Nissan offered a unique experience to fans.

“As part of our UEFA Champions League sponsorship, fans are at the heart of what we do at Nissan, and we’re constantly innovating to ensure we offer the most exciting experiences possible for these supporters,” he said.

Curiously, only people under the age of 20 can wave the flag at the Champions League final so the winner of the competition either has to be accompanied by a person who’s under 20 or is under 20 themselves.

The competition is open on Facebook until the 13th of April.
