LeBron James answers Twitter user in new Kia ad

Kia has unveiled its new series of humorous and entertaining advertisements featuring its global ambassador, basketball superstar LeBron James

Looking to appeal to a younger, more sports orientated market, the car brand has James answering a different tweet in a number of different videos about the vehicle he uses to get from A to B.

King James looks to dispel any doubt about the make of car he drives to matches. Answering one fan, a Nate Bourdeau who tweeted, “There’s a thousand percent chance that there’s a zero percent chance that LeBron drives a Kia”, the 31 year old flips it back on the user and whilst getting into a Kia, demonstrates that there was, in fact, a 1,000% chance he drives a Kia.

While the content of the advertisement isn’t particularly groundbreaking, the notion of using a sports star to interact directly with fans on social media may form interesting precedent for other brands down the track.

However, it’s not a new type of ad for Kia who also unveiled a campaign featuring LeBron James last year.

Coincidentally, Kia will be the first brand present on NBA shirts and the brand seems to be attempting to clock some air time in the states in order to create some momentum behind its brand.

After signing a lifetime deal with Nike, launching his own Virtual Reality experience as well as getting external investment for his video company, LeBron James’ stocks continue to skyrocket as his worth to brands explodes.
