Jordan Spieth signs a massive deal with Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola North America has appointed the best golfer in the world Jordan Spieth as ambassador in a long term deal aimed at increasing the brand’s presence on the PGA Tour and in golf in general.
The 22 year old will appear in all Coca-Cola campaigns on TV, social media, in-store merchandising, outdoor advertising, packaging, experiential events and more.
Looking ahead to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, the brand will also launch special activations during the games in which golf is returning as an event for the first time since 1904. Jordan Spieth will be apart of Team USA so it’s definitely a deal that makes sense for Coke.
While the specific financial details of the deal haven’t yet been released, the deal is thought to be of a similar value to that of LeBron James, ambassador for Coca-Cola-owned brand Sprite.
The young America said he was looking forward to helping increase the brand around the golfing world
“As a Coca-Cola brand ambassador, I look forward to bringing greater awareness to the sport of golf globally and engaging with fans in exciting new ways,” he said.
The appointment underlines a real purple patch for the recently crowned world number one as he’s also the global ambassador for apparel brand Under Armour.
