Player Digital Content Coordinator

PGA Tour presently have an opportunity for a Player Digital Content Coordinator with PGA TOUR Communications. The Player Digital Content Coordinator will assist the Manager of Digital Communications and digital content team with the creation of content that will live natively on PGA TOUR players social and digital channels. The candidate will be responsible for the oversight and execution of content campaigns and strategies that grow PGA TOUR player accounts while helping deliver value back to the owned league accounts.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Journalism, Marketing, or Communications preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in creating content for use on websites and social media platforms
  • Background in golf preferred; strong interest in golf required
  • Experience producing live video content for social media (Facebook Live, Periscope, etc.)
  • Strong writing and editing skills including grammar, style and spelling
  • Strong knowledge of the social media space including content creation, best practices, success metrics and emerging platforms
  • Strong understanding of Adobe platforms, basic video editing, and photography
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships to facilitate content development

 Responsibilities:

  • Work with the players, agents, managers, PGA TOUR digital content team, and communications department, to develop strategies for digital content to include social media, video/audio postings, and editorial content
  • Willingness to travel to multiple events throughout the year
  • Work with internal departments to create consistent, digital content and strategies around PGA TOUR player content
  • Work with Digital Communications manager to determine on-site social media plans for player content to enhance fan experience; Digital Content Coordinator will be tasked with overseeing certain digital and on-site activations as it relates to certain players
  • Coordinate strategy behind social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Vine, etc.; stays current with emerging platforms and other social applications.
  • Ensure PGA TOUR player social properties are opportunistic and in tune with the latest developments/enhancement to various platforms
  • Capture photography and video as needed to support content plan
  • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs; analyzes, reviews and reports on effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results and demonstrate best practices
  • Work with PGA TOUR social media staff to create conversation between the PGA TOUR (league channels and tournament channels) and players on social media
