FC Barcelona turns 10 on YouTube

FC Barcelona have celebrated their 10 year anniversary on YouTube by releasing figures from its channel analytics.

On 6 February 2006, Spain football giant FC Barcelona became one of the first football clubs to open a channel on YouTube and, in the same way that AS Roma celebrated by releasing their social media analytics for 2015, has asserted their position at the top of the YouTube tree when it comes to football clubs.

Today, the European Champions have the most subscribers of all sports teams worldwide on the video platform with over 2,144,200 signing up to its channel, outnumbering its main rivals Real Madrid (1.9 million subscribers), Manchester City (559 000), Chelsea FC (487 000) and Liverpool FC (408 000).

To date, the club has shared around 12 600 videos which represent 1600 years of viewing and they’ve received more than 456 million views including 3 million “likes”.

FC Barcelona is the sports club with the most views worldwide and is the fifth sports organisation, behind the NBA, MLB, MotoGP and the Olympics.

FC Barcelona has also outlined the ten most viewed videos of the channel. Club’s superstars Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr take the lead in a keep-ups battle (below), following by one Clasico recap in 2013 and Pep Guardiola tribute.
