The London Sporting Club had a far more enjoyable day yesterday than the British & Irish Lions as we assembled 80 guests to have breakfast, watched the Lions ultimately lose to the Auckland Blues, listened to expert punditry from Nick Evans and networked.

Hosted in conjunction with our good friends from the Lord’s Taverners at the private screening room at the Hippodrome, the members tucked into a full English (and a few pints) and were entertained by Evans, the former All Black fly half who announced his retirement from rugby last month after 10 wonderful years at Harlequins.

Sadly the Lions lost but there is always another day. Meanwhile the London Sporting Club and the Lord’s Taverners look forward to hosting our second breakfast on June 20th when the Lions play the Chiefs and our guest pundit will be Damian Hopley, the former Wasps and England centre and current CEO of the Rugby Players’ Association.
