Chicago Blackhawks give back to the fans in new campaign

NHL team the Chicago Blackhawks has launched an interesting social media campaign #WhatsYourGoal in an attempt to reach more fans in a more unique fashion.

Each Wednesday, the franchise has asked its Twitter and its Instagram followers to send in their goals in which the Blackhawks can potentially help achieve. Whether it is to meet players from the 2015 Stanley Cup winning team to getting match-day tickets or any extra desire, the team is helping them make it possible.

Replying to some of the fans’ wishes shared on social media, the Blackhawks’ official account has started to get around to some of the wishes, retweeting their tweets and helping them achieve it.

So far, one of the major wishes the team has granted was Emilie, a mum who asked the team to send one player to babysit her son Ben. Bettering that, the team sent Blackhawks superstar Corey Crawford and a couple of his team mates to surprise the young fans at home.

Following fans’ wishes shared on social media, Blackhawks’ official account, answers to some of them retweeting their tweets and achieving so their goal. To date, the campaign was especially marked by Emilie’s goal.

As sporting brands endeavour to find new ways of reaching out to fans, increasingly creative campaigns such as these significantly further their engagement not only with markets they’ve already reached but breaks down the barriers to ones they haven’t yet.
