Arsenal to help Kenyan football

Kenyan betting company SportPesa will become Premier League giant Arsenal’s “Official Betting Partner” in Kenya after announcing the deal over the weekend.

With SportPesa already Kenya’s Premier League title sponsor, the long-term partnership is geared towards helping SportPesa grow their business in Kenya.

Under the deal, SportPesa will engage Arsenal fans located in Kenya through the club’s digital channels, promotional activities and marketing initiatives featuring players and club legends. The betting company will also offer official merchandise and match tickets to Kenyan supporters.

In addition to this, SportPesa will organise two five-day training camps per season which will be managed by Arsenal-trained coaching staff. These sessions will incorporate the key principles of “playing the Arsenal way” in Kenya as well as support SportPesa’s initiative identifying football talents.

The north London club will also give the opportunity for Kenyan football administrators to meet and learn from club’s experts in order to develop their own facilities.

Arsenal’s Chief Commercial Officer Vinai Venkatesham is delighted to welcome SportPesa which represents a great opportunity  to reach Arsenal’s African fans.

“We look forward to engaging further with our fans in Kenya while also helping to drive the SportPesa business and, through a wide range of initiatives, the development of football in the country” he said.

SportPesa’s Chief Executive Officer Ronald Karauri said he knows how support from Arsenal is important to develop football standards in Kenya.

“We are committed to allocating the best resources and support to our players to help them achieve their dreams. Our aim is to see Kenya participate in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. We are also very excited for this partnership and are looking forward for greater revolution in the Kenyan football world” he said.
