Arsenal rakes in best matchday profit in Europe for 2014/2015 season

Arsenal Football Club tops the European clubs for matchday profit according to a report compiled by Deloitte profiling football’s highest earning clubs.

Raking in approximately £100.4 million in matchday profit during the 2014/2015 season according to Deloitte’s Football Money League table, Arsenal edged Real Madrid who enjoyed a matchday profit of £98.9 million while far outnumbering the matchday profits of Barcelona (£88.9 million) and Manchester United (£86.7 million) respectively.

Despite having a superior matchday profit, Arsenal fall way behind the big four in terms of total revenue, coming in at 7th with Real Madrid still topping the list after 11 consecutive years at the top.

The Galacticos generated £439 million in the 2014/2015 season after enjoying a significant boost in commercial revenue. Meanwhile, FC Barcelona’s success on the pitch translated to success off it, climbing into second above Manchester United, who still remains far and away England’s biggest club in terms of club revenue.

  9. Liverpool (£298.1 million)
  10. Juventus (£246.4 million)

According to Deloitte’s forecasts, Manchester United are expected to top the 2015/2016 Money League on the back of events like its return to the UEFA Champions League as well as the start of some significant commercial partnerships.
