The website was set up in January 2010 by Daniel McLaren originally as The UK Sports Network. Dan is the Managing Director of YouTube specialists Cast Digital and has been working within the social media industry for the last 5 years.
Sensing shifting sands and changing trends, Cast Digital has teamed up with real-time engagement team Snack Media who are social media industry experts that procure, host and also produce industry specific web publications.
One of Britain’s fastest growing digital sports media companies, Snack Media (@snackmedia) is at the forefront of the rapidly growing social media world and forms an immense relationship with Dan and Cast Digital in being able to provide in-depth and insightful industry news.
Publishing and curating the best practice content from the sports and social media industry, Digital Sport endeavours to serve both those who work in the field or have an interest in what is happening within digital media and sport.
With the industry ever-changing, Digital Sport organises a Digital Sport series of events that brings together a variety of people with the formats ranging from evening Q&A’s, panel sessions, evening drinks and full day seminars. So far events have been run in London, Glasgow and Manchester.
